In my daily life, I encounter many things that fill me with rage, be it pseudo-scientific articles about the “natural” differences between the sexes or surveys that show respondents believe drunk girls are “asking” for rape or Dairy Queen commericials that feature little girls whoring themselves out for waffle bowl sundaes. I got tired of just being reduced to moaning gutturrally and throwing things at the TV and realized that I needed a soapbox. Mighty Crankosaurus is that soapbox.

hehe. yeh i walk around filled with rage most of the time, as a feminist. its tiring. cant make it through the day without seeing things that should make the world stop and want to figure out how it’s okay for half of humanity to be oppressed. and so many women dont seem to notice!
anyway i appreciate your rage, and hope the blog has been a good outlet. im getting ready to start my own but cant think of a name and am nervous about having my thoughts ‘out there’ for the whole internet “community” to see.
Welcome to the feminist blogosphere, katrin! I can’t speak for everyone, but blogging has been a great experience for me. It’s fantastic to be able to articulate thoughts that would have otherwise just floated around in your head and to have them understood by people who feel the same way. Feminism–even really basic forms of it–is so far out of the mainstream that it can feel alienating, so it’s nice to know that there are sane people out there.
